Nothing like the crotch rockets and faster than harleys, and many sport bikes too. Per motorcycle classicsin 1985, the brand-new 1,198cc, 70-degree v4 monster yamaha v-max was an unapologetic two-wheeled hot-rod. It was the undisputed king of the boulevard, and the most american bike ever to come out of japan. Virtually unchanged 22 years later, it still may be. This is a bike built for the moody loner. No factory repli-racer resplendent in rainbow hues … no weekend offroading with the kids. The v-max is all about wicked attitude in spades, anti-social behavior and burning up the other guy in stoplight to stoplight races. The v-max was a hooligan bike a decade before the term existed. The vmax is an amazing bike often difficult to find. I found this one in texas originally and had it shipped here, ive wanted this bike for 20 years and have loved having it. Rode this bike on my daily commute to work for about 2 years and rides through the mountains. Regrettably it is time to sell due to circumstances. The bike is in good condition, it does need the middle "seat" reupholstered. Ive never abused the bike, i have cleaned and stripped and coated the fuel tank, the po let it rust but no problems since i coated it. Gear selector is bent but fully functional. Bike tipped when parked and was able to catch it but not before the selector wasbent, fully operational though. She's not perfect, came with a few scratches but looks fantastic still, lots of compliments on this bike. My buddy, went and bought one after i showed him this one, 2006 as well but with 97k miles on it and he's having a blast. Runs great and fast. Black with red ghost flames on the "tank" which is the air cleaner cover really. Hate to see it go but time for a change and prefer to move sooner than later but not desperate either.
