Digital fuel injection helps, and the quartet of 38mm Keihin downdraft throttle bodies slam the perfect mix of fuel and air into the combustion chambers with help from an advanced ECU, oval sub-throttles and a cool air intake system that routes fresh air to the airbox via ducts at the front of the bike. It's a perfect engine for a road-going sportbike -- smooth, powerful, flexible and blessed with the sort of legendary reli. At seemingly every rpm, the Ninja 1000 engine produces the sort of smooth, instant-on thrust many hard-core sportbikes just can't match

Seller's Comments and Description: I purchased this bike back in 2011 from a collector that collected mostly Indians and old Harleys. This was the only Japanese bike in his collection and said it was always one of his favorite bikes and searched for years for one like this bike that is a fully documented build and so complete. The bike had sat not running for 8 years in dry storage prior to me purchasing it so over the last couple years I did take the bike down and go through it completely with the exception of the engine. All the motor top end work done on this bike was performed by RC Engineering (Russ Collins) which is who built Craig Vetters engine when he raced Daytona International Speedway back in the 70,s. Its an 1105cc built engine with less than 2000 miles on it since it was built. The bike has a total of 3896 miles since 1974. The gauges are unrestored and in mint condition with full color orange on the tach redline with no fade. Original switchblocks code dated 74 is great condition. The frame was all hand polished and sealed but does have some light pitting on the right inner fairing bracket, around the battery box and very minor on the rear swing arm and I would rate the frame plating 8.7 out of 10 for being 43 years old and is overall in very nice shape. The factory carbs are very clean and work nice and I believe are jetted 122 main jets and 20 on the pilot jet. The bike still retains the original coils and spark plug wires. The exhaust is a Yoshi race pipe and sounds great but does have a small ding on the #4 upper front as shown in the pictures. The only other real flaw is a few dimples in the 2 upper fork chromed plugs. I do have the original factory tank strap that needs new leather but I do have it and I also have the original winning performance exhaust that needs re-chroming that it was built with . Also paperwork from Vetter Fairing stamped with the #13 which I believe to be the import number. The bike starts right up and runs and drives very nice with no leaks or issues. The exhaust is an excellent condition set of original KZ900 pipes with no dents, rust or dings.. The frame is unmolested and in very good condition with perfectly straight gussets, steering stoppers etc. Bike has just had a brand new Z1 Enterprise paint set put on due to a dent in the orig gas tank but I do still have the rest of the original body set in very good cond that will go with the bike if requested
