The engine was removed during that same time, allowing for all other major parts to be checked and repaired as necessary, like the crankshaft bearings and seals were replaced and all additonal interimaintenence was preformed. Also, new brakes and several other minor repairs were professionally done at the same shop. I'm selling this car because I just don't have time to enjoy it anymore. Thirty five years plus, with this love of my life ... its time now for my wife. In 2000 (or 8,000 miles ago) the clutch was replaced also with the rear main seal was converted to a modern neoprene seal

1962 triumph tr-4 1962 triumph tr4, strong driver, early car with white metal dash rather than wood. Recent completely rebuilt engine by local specialist (approx 100 miles ago, invoice available), reconditioned carburetors, new generator bracket, new hoses, new wheel bearings, new wheels and tires, new front and rear wheel studs,fully adjustable miata seats with machined billet adapter brackets (fantastic upgrade!), new floors, new trunk floor, newer gas tank, newer carpets, new steering wheel, new battery, improved clutch release assembly. Top frame assembly is not attached but is functional and included without the vinyl top. Any rust has been removed, and the frame and underpinnings are solid. Rocker panel fit and door latches function but are imperfect. Car has current california registration. Original wheels, hubcaps, steering wheel included with car. Not interested in trades. We can deliver at an agreed upon price within california.

This 1962 triumph tr 4 is in british racing green with tan. In 1962 the owner and his wife decided to take a sabbatical from his work here in the states and move to europe for an extended stay. Having fallen in love with british sports cars, the owner decided to put an order in for a new british sports car and take delivery in the uk. It was between two newly introduced models, the jaguar e-type or the triumph tr-4. After finding the e-type difficult to get in and out of, he placed his order for a new tr-4. he paid $2,400 in cash to british motor car distributors ltd, the then triumph dealer in san francisco, ca. he arranged to take delivery at the standard triumph showroom at berkeley square in london. he ordered the car in triumph racing green with tan interior. He also specified optional seat belts, radio, wire wheels and a tonneau cover. After three months in europe the car was shipped home by standard triumph to san francisco (as part of the $2400 purchase price) and then down to monterey where it has remained until late in 2016. Original issue black california plates still with the car as well. Initially used as a daily driver, the car has always been garaged. According to the owner the top has only rarely been up in the last 50 odd years. The paint on this tr 4 is in as new condition. the car has had only one repaint (in a slightly darker shade of green), otherwise a totally unrestored example. Two updates to the car include a nardi wheel which was replaced in 1963 and around this same time, updated 60 spoke wheels from the standard 48 spoke wires. recent service work includes: - new high torque starter and vredestein spirit classics. - updated ignition system. - set carbs and choke. the complete tool kit, manuals, extensive service file, spare keys, jack and tonneau cover will be presented to the new owner.
