For sale is a 1997 lincoln mark viii base coupe. At 85k miles i did a front end and brake rebuild:replaced the air suspension with a coil spring kit from strutmasters. Replaced the front and rear strut rod bushings. Front bushings are genuine motorcraft (it took a very long time for me to find these as there aren't many left out there). Replaced upper and lower control arms (including ball joints) and tie rod ends. Replaced front brake calipers, pads, rotors, and rubber brake lines. (calipers and pads are centric). Installed new master cylinder replaced rear brake pads, rotors, and rubber brake lines at 90k miles all 4 tires were replaced with kelly springfield branded tires at local good year shop. At 100k miles the alternator and serpentine belt were replaced. Alternator was a new remy part. Serpentine belt was genuine motorcraft. Also at 100k miles i replaced the hid headlight system with a kensun hid system. Also replaced all other front bulbs. In january the car passed ca smog check with flying colors, and ca registration is current through feb, 2018. The fuel filler door works just fine, but it has to be released from the trunk because the fuel door release button in the interior of the car broke off and i haven't replaced it. The car has the usual heater blender door problem that is so common on this year mark viii. So only cold air comes through the ducts. I haven't taken the time to fix this because i live in ca and the cold doesn't get too bad where i live. The ac works just fine and blows very cold air. Note that the passenger-side-rear hubcap is missing. Someone stole it (why do people do stuff like that?) and i haven't replaced it. The car needs transmission work. When in gear the car crawls forward very slowly. I haven't taken the car to a shop to have it diagnosed. But i have seen many used transmissions available for this car for cheap. The engine runs strong but has some minor oil leaks. If the transmission was fixed or replaced this could be a daily driver car (it was my daily driver until the transmission problem).
